Default Voip and NAT

Hello. I bought a Linksys WIP330 and a ATA device PAP2T.

I created two accounts. One on voipbuster and one on Sipdiscount.

I put these accounts on PAP2T and connected to my private network.

I then used WIP330 from another wireless network (not mine) and called from another voipbutser account. I make call both to voipbuster and sipdiscount accounts of my network.

The problem is that all work whatever configuration i make. I tried to disable STUN server. I used port forwarding. i tried many different configurations but although theory says that you must use STUN or port forwarding if you use NAT. I have arestricted cone NAT on my router. Also i used port forwarding of port 5060 and 5061 (the ports i use on my ATA) to a different ip address of my private network and even then the call was fine.

The major problem is that i can't make a call avery time. There are times that the phone doesn't ring now although before half an hour with the same configuration it worked fine.

I can't understand how do i have to configure my ATA because i can't make any sense by the way in works now.

Thanks.

You may also need to port forward RTP ports 16384-16482. These are the default RTP ports that Linksys devices use.

I also use PAP2T-NA with two voip services configured (CallCentric and InPhonex).
I have ports 5060-5063 and 16384-16482 forwarded.

I have also set the ATA line-1 to use port 5062, and line-2 for 5063.
This is so I can reserve ports 5060-5061 for use with softphones on my PC.

I think I noted conflicts when using softphones on PC and ATA behind same router. When I configured ATA to use ports 5062 and 5063 respectively, there didn't seem to be any more conflicts when using softphones or ATA together.

I heard that it is a NAT issue and it depens on the router, sometimes also routers have SIP ALG activated.. What is your router?
